Happy New Year, Charlie and everyone here on the forum! Charlie, did I understand you correctly when you stated to Nang at Ma-at that Mike Waters indicated he might visit your site? That's fantastic good news! Also you mentioned two other iron artifacts along with the now famous bird effigy. Did you post those here early on? I seem to remember some other magnetic iron samples from the site but it's been a while since I went back and looked at the early photos. The implications are staggering but I keep remembering what Larry Banks said about the implications of lignite used as fuel at the Lake Lewisville site. I'm really proud of all the progress you've made with your site, Charlie and look forward to the day when it is officially recognized as a world class Pre-Clovis site. _________________ David Campbell

The circular one at the bottom is the one that caught my eye. I had the distinct impression that it will turn out to be the oldest and best of the three. It goes along with the feeling I have that this year is going to be exceptionally productive and positive. Thanks for placing these remarkable artifacts in one grouping for easy access. _________________ David Campbell

Yeah, when Steve was here in August, that one caught his eye and he asked immediately if he could take it back with him for analyses. I'm about ready to write him and see if he has had a chance to put that sucker under a SEM. I'm starting to get a serious itch to attempt TL dating these specimens. I've heard iron can also be 14C dated.

Thank you David, for guiding me and introducing me to the key players that are involved with attempting to date the stone artifacts from the site. And I haven't forgot about Frank, who introduced me to you. It's been a lot of fun so far!!

Happy New Year guys.
Let me add my own best wishes for you and your site this year Charlie. It's been long uphill road but I think you can turn the corner this year. I always look at your pics, and I have learned more about lithics than I ever cared to. Thanks. |
