We have just added a photo of what geologists call a neptunian dike in the galleries. This usgs photo shows one of several such dikes for which Guadalupe Peak Park is noted. These are composed of Permian age marine sediments and corals which form the Capitan Formation and are cemented with marine cementation. The striking orthoganally linear aspects of this particular dike along with its capstones make this one of the most interesting dikes I have yet seen.
